Agartala, Tripura, April 4 (HBTV): A clash between the Border Security Force (BSF) and smugglers at Sonamura Durgapur border under NC Nagar BOP of Sepahijala district left one smuggler dead.      

It has been reported that BSF troopers on patrolling caught the smugglers red-handed when they were trying to transport goods infringing the international borders.                

The alleged smugglers initially tried to obstruct the BSF, after which a scuffle ensued leading the BSF to open fire.                  

A suspected smuggler identified as one Shahidul Islam was killed by the BSF.                  

Another smuggler named Kabil Mia was seriously injured. Both of them were referred to Agartala GB Hospital after first treatment at Sonamura by the doctor on duty.
