Belonia, Tripura, April 29 (HBTV): Thousands of Youth Tipra Federation (YTF) activists, affiliated with the Tipra Motha Party led by Pradyot Kishore Debbarman, staged a massive protest at the India-Bangladesh border in Belonia, South Tripura on Monday.

The protest erupted following recent comments by Bangladesh's interim government’s head Md Yunus, who, during a media briefing in China, termed Northeast India as "landlocked," calling Bangladesh’s sea access a strategic advantage.

Gathering at Ballamukha village, protestors, waving Indian and party flags, condemned Bangladesh’s recent activities particularly the construction of embankments dangerously close to the zero line along the Muhuri River. YTF president Suraj Debbarma accused Bangladesh of violating border agreements and warned against further encroachments.

“If Bangladesh continues aggression, the Chittagong Hill Tracts will be claimed as part of Greater Tipraland," Debbarma declared.

Amid heavy security by Border Security Force and police, a YTF delegation briefly crossed the barbed wire fencing to inspect the construction, leading to a heated exchange with BSF officials.

The situation remains tense, with strong sentiments against any perceived violation in Indian territory.
