Tripura CM demands detailed report on report of child being sold

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has sought a detailed report about the case of a child being sold.

Agartala, Tripura, May 28 (HBTV): Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday broke his silence on the case of a child being sold in Ganda Tuwisa subdivision of Dhalai district. Speaking to the media during his visit to the State Ayurvedic Hospital in Agartala, he assured the public that he has asked a comprehensive report on the matter. Saha expressed awareness of the situation and confirmed that the district magistrate has already submitted a detailed report. He emphasized the government's commitment to providing financial assistance and support to the affected family.

In response to allegations raised by the opposition party, Saha dismissed them and urged for introspection, stating that such incidents were more prevalent during the opposition’s tenure. He highlighted the government's efforts to reduce the frequency of such occurrences.    

The chief minister also acknowledged that while issues persist, the government is actively addressing them with prompt and effective response.

Regarding the specific incident in Dhalai district, Dr Saha reassured the public that immediate action was taken, resulting in the child being reunited with her family on the same day. He underscored the significance of allocating additional resources to the district.

The chief minister reaffirmed the government's dedication to averting such incidents and to provide support to communities facing challenges in Tripura.
