Washington DC [US], July 6 (HBTV): In a sensational twist to the ongoing fallout between former US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO has launched a new political entity called the America Party.

On Saturday (local time), Musk criticised the current political landscape in the United States, stating, ‘We live in a one-party system, not a democracy.’ Launching the America Party, he described it as ‘the party that actually represents America’.

In a post on X, the newly formed party declared, ‘We’ve tried red. We’ve tried blue. America is ready for something that actually works. America Party — The middle has a voice now.’

Among a series of social media posts, one read: ‘The silent majority isn’t silent anymore. This is the moment everything shifts. The America Party is now here — and it’s the answer to a system that stopped listening.’

The announcement followed a poll Musk conducted on X, asking users whether he should start a new party. Over 65 percent of respondents supported the idea.

‘By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste and graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom,’ Musk posted.

Musk’s calls for a new party intensified after a major dispute with Trump over the recently passed Big Beautiful Bill, which Musk had sharply criticised. The bill was signed into law by Trump on July 4 during a celebration outside the White House, marking what he called a landmark legislative achievement.

Since his exit from the White House advisory role, Musk has become a vocal critic of Trump’s policies, particularly concerning the bill’s impact on the national deficit. He announced his intention to support challengers to Republican lawmakers who backed the legislation and expressed support for Representative Thomas Massie, a known opponent of the bill.

While Musk has formally announced the creation of the America Party, Trump’s former adviser has not yet released any detailed plan regarding the party’s political roadmap.
