WTC Final: Indian fans at the Rose Bowl in Southampton were heard singing iconic bollywood numbers including 'Sandese Aate Hai' from Sunny Deol's 'Border' movie on Day 2 of the historic Test match.

Indian fans at Southampton's Rose Bowl waited for over six hours on Friday and then returned without witnessing any action as rain played spoilsport and washed out the entire day, not allowing even the coin toss to take place.

The fans did not give up and reported on time on the second day as well. The weather also stayed kind and the historic World Test Championship (WTC) final kicked off on time. A toss at 2:30 pm IST which New Zealand won and a timely entrance of India opener at 3:00 pm IST after being asked to bat first.

Fans made the maximum use of the opportunity. They gave the perfect reception to their stars from back home and hummed famous Bollywood numbers including 'Sandese Aate Hai' from Sunny Deol's 'Border' movie and 'Tujhme Rab Dikhta Hai' from Anushka Sharma starrer 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi'. They used their music instruments for the perfect background music and some utilised the opportunity to groove to the music.

It's a well known fact that Team India gets massive support in any corner of the world. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson had admitted it ahead of the WTC final.

"Whenever you play India, there is a good atmosphere, and it is usually geared towards them, but it is pretty good fun," Williamson had told ICC.

Talking about the match, openers Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma forged a 50-run partnership before the latter departed for 34 in the 21st over. Gill (28) followed him shortly before Virat Kohli joined Cheteshwar Pujara.

India lost Pujara (8 off 54) after lunch. Captain Kohli is currently batting with his deputy Ajinkya Rahane. India were 106 for the loss of three wickets when this story was published.
