Medziphema, Chumoukedima, April 5 (HBTV): Two persons in Medziphema in Chumoukedima district died, reportedly from asphyxiation while cleaning a ring well on April 4.  

The incident reportedly happened at about 3:00 pm in the subdivision. 

Reports say the two deceased persons were from the Khiamnuingan tribe.  

The deceased persons have been identified as one Lushei, 26, of Pangsha village in Noklak, and a Mongtson, 50, Choklangan village, also in Noklak. 

Members of the State Disaster Response Force retrieved the bodies of the deceased persons and handed them over to their families. 

It was reported that the second person had gone in to rescue the first. A third went in to rescue the two.

The third man was rescued alive, updates said.
