Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Pashupati Kumar Paras on Saturday announced the new national executive a day ahead of a committee meeting called by Chirag Paswan.

Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Pashupati Kumar Paras on Saturday announced the new national executive a day ahead of a committee meeting called by Chirag Paswan.

Paras announced the names of eight members who will be a part of the new executive.

Meanwhile, on Friday, another LJP delegation led by Chirag Paswan urged the Election Commission (EC) to seek its view before taking a decision on any claim over the party by the other faction headed by Pashupati Kumar Paras.

Representatives of both the factions had arrived at the EC headquarters to stake their claim to leadership of LJP.

The Pashupati Paras-led faction submitted a memorandum stating that Paras was elected at a meeting of 75 members of the party executive in Patna and a new working committee has been formed. Thus, both are valid.

On the other hand, Paswan claimed that the 'rebel' party members had gone against the party constitution.
