On June 19, 2021, the petrol and diesel prices recorded minor changes, after hiking for the 26th time since May 4.

The state-run Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) have hiked the prices of petrol and diesel today. While the prices marginally jumped in some cities for the 27th time since May 4, they remained stable in Delhi on Saturday, June 19, 2021. In the national capital, while the price of petrol stood at Rs 96.93 per litre, the same as Friday, the price of diesel remained at Rs 87.69 per litre.

However, in Mumbai, the petrol price went down after trading on the higher side for so long. In the financial capital, while the price of petrol stood at Rs 103.08 per litre, the price of diesel remained at Rs 95.14 per litre.

On Friday, petrol and diesel increased for the 26th time since May 4. Both petrol and diesel were retailing at record high rates after a hike of 27 paise and 28 paise, respectively. Yesterday, petrol prices breached Rs 100 per litre in more than 15 cities in the country.

Petrol and diesel prices have been rising rapidly in the country due to rising international crude oil prices. Experts are worried about the prolonged round of fuel price hikes as it has triggered a sharp rise in inflation.
