The district administration of Kohima has ordered arms dealers in the district to stop selling the guns and ammunitions from April 9 as part of security measures for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Kohima, Nagaland, April 10 (HBTV): The district administration of Kohima has ordered arms dealers in the district to stop selling the guns and ammunitions from April 9 as part of security measures for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.  



Kohima’s Deputy Commissioner Kumar Ramnikant has directed arms and ammunition dealers including air rifles dealers in Kohima district to discontinue selling arms and ammunition and to close shops from April 9. The order is being issued in view of the forthcoming general election to the 18th LokSabha, updates from the government publicity agency department of Information and Public Relations stated.   



The order informed the Kohima superintendent of police to ensure physical verification of all arms and ammunition stock ledgers.
