Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has assured that all the members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly will protect the faith and religion of the state’s citizens.

Mokokchung, Nagaland, April 5 (HBTV): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has assured that all the members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly will protect the faith and religion of the state’s citizens.  



The election campaign of the party for its Lok Sabha candidate, Dr Chumben Murry, has started. Neiphiu Rio addressed a rally in the town hall of Mokokchung on Friday.   



Introducing Murry, who is a former minister, the chief minister said the seasoned politician had always been in the service of the people’s welfare. Rio said that a strong and capable leader is needed to speak out the concerns of the people in the parliament. 



The politician claimed that the UDA government, with the Bharatiya Janata Party as its main ally, has reached milestones for the welfare of the public and has visions to uplift the youths.   



Rio claimed that the 60 members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly members will continue to protect the people and their religion. Even the Constitution of India in Article 25 guarantees the Freedom of Conscience, the freedom to profess, practice, and propagate religion to all citizens, he said.  



Stating that its partner the BJP recognized the voice of the people, Neiphiu Rio said even the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act has been exempted for the state of Nagaland.  This action implies that the centre acts accordingly with the voice of the state and has given exemption as well as protection, he said.
