NBSE cl-12 question ‘paper leak’: students demand investigation
Dimapur, Nagaland, February 14 (HBTV): A number of students in Nagaland have launched a petition online demanding investigations into the alleged leakage of a question paper pertinent to a higher secondary examination.
Amid allegations that the question paper for English in the ongoing higher secondary school leaving certificate examination was leaked, students have initiated an online petition, demanding investigation into the matter.
The examination is conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE).
After the NBSE told HornbillTV that the report about the paper being leaked was ‘fake’ news, students have demanded a probe to get to the root of the controversy.
In its online petition, the students stated that the English questions could not be predicted with a high level of accuracy as was reportedly seen in the questions that they claimed were forwarded to them through social media groups.
The petition stated that the alleged 'leaked questions' contained three idioms and phrases that were asked in the examination when in the textbook there were over 160 idioms and phrases.
It claimed that the multiple-choice-questions as well as questions from the writing section were the same.
According to the statement in the petition, the alleged 'leaked questions' was worth more than 50 marks. The entire paper was for 80 marks, out of which 15 marks were for the Reading section.
Therefore, almost 90 percent of the questions were 'leaked', it is alleged.
The students have also brushed aside the possibility that the questions being spread on social media were mere ‘suggestions.’
Amid the uproar on the alleged paper leak on various social media platforms, no official statement or clarification on the matter has been issued by the NBSE so far.
