Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], May 10 (HBTV): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh, on Monday inaugurated the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in Lucknow.

Addressing the event, the Chief Minister underlined the significance of tribunals, stating that CAT provides a platform for officers and employees associated with the government whose matters have been pending in courts for a long time, helping ensure timely justice.

CM Yogi said, 'Today is very important for us because it is the birth anniversary of the architect of the Constitution, B. R. Ambedkar. The government always had a clear objective behind tribunals. Cases in our courts are pending for a long time. To avoid wasting the courts' time on such matters, these cases were assigned to tribunals. The government's aim is that these tribunals should provide justice to the concerned parties based on merit in a proper manner. With this clear intention, tribunals have started working in different parts of the country.'

'The role of CAT is to provide a platform for the problems of officers and employees associated with various government works and the social system related to the central government, who felt that justice was not being done to them at any level, and to provide them timely justice through this platform,' he added.

Expressing hope that the newly inaugurated CAT will fulfil its purpose effectively, CM Yogi said, 'Today, CAT has been established for the central employees of 16 janpadas. A huge building has been constructed and is dedicated to them. I am confident that, as per the wish of PM Modi, it will play an important role in providing timely justice to all the workers who, due to some reasons, didn't get justice.'

The Chief Minister further stated, 'The first priority of good governance is the rule of law, but it should be communicable, understandable, and simple. Even a common man, a common worker, a common citizen should be able to approach the government for any kind of injustice done to them, and by getting a timely hearing, the matter should be resolved on the basis of merit.'

Highlighting the issue of delayed justice, CM Adityanath remarked, 'If justice is not delivered on time, then I feel that there is nothing worse than a joke like this in the system.'

Citing a personal example, the Chief Minister said, 'Many times you must have seen how long it takes to get justice in a case; many times generations pass, but the hope of justice remains low. I remember there was a case related to Gorakhpur Math that went to court in 1956. After ages, it came to the Supreme Court, and its decision was given in 1997. You can imagine that among these forty generations, I was the third generation, and I did not even know what that case was.'
