Kurukshetra (Haryana) [India], August 26 (HBTV): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended Krishna Janmashtami celebrations at the Gurjar Dharamshala in Kurukshetra and extended his greetings to the people of the state.
CM Saini said that Krishna Janmashtami is deeply connected to Indian culture and traditions and conveys a timeless message of unity and brotherhood. He highlighted Kurukshetra as the sacred land where Lord Krishna imparted the teachings of the Gita to Arjuna, stating, ‘The wisdom of the Gita, emphasising the importance of action, protection of dharma, and the victory of truth, remains highly relevant in our lives today.’
The Chief Minister emphasised that as Haryana moves towards a modern and inclusive society, the principles and teachings of the Gita continue to inspire progress. ‘Our goal is to create a society free from discrimination, where people live with mutual respect and harmony,’ he said.
CM Saini also said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the Haryana government is committed to ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,’ ensuring every citizen benefits from government schemes without bias.
He highlighted the importance of preserving culture alongside development, noting events such as the Sri Krishna Mahotsav, the International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav in Kurukshetra, and international Gita Mahotsav abroad, which aim to spread the message of the Gita globally. CM Saini also praised the Gurjar community for their historical courage, sacrifice, and hard work, urging people to follow Lord Krishna’s ideals and live by the principles of dharma, justice, and truth.
Responding to community requests, he announced that he would personally meet the Union Railway Minister to facilitate construction of the requested access route to the Dharamshala and provide INR 51 lakh to support its public service activities. He assured that the Haryana government would fulfil all other feasible demands. Former Minister Kanwarpal Gurjar also addressed the programme.
