Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday inaugurated the renovated dome of the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha ahead of the Monsoon Session, scheduled to commence tomorrow.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 26 (HBTV): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday inaugurated the renovated dome of the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha ahead of the Monsoon Session, scheduled to commence tomorrow. He also inaugurated the Assembly Mandap, Assembly Hall No. 15, and the VIP lounge.

Following the inauguration, the CM participated in an all-party meeting convened by Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana to discuss key issues ahead of the session. Leaders from both the ruling side and opposition, including Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, Minister Sanjay Nishad, Om Prakash Rajbhar, Congress MLA Aradhana Mishra, BSP MLA Umashankar Singh, and MLA Kunwar Raghuraj Pratap Singh, were present.

The Monsoon Session of the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, as per an order issued by the Assembly Secretariat on July 26.

The Assembly will be under the surveillance of state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) cameras, starting as a pilot project in this session and fully implemented from the winter session. The AI system will monitor MLA attendance, activities, and speeches, and will include facial recognition technology and detailed profiles of all MLAs. Speaker Satish Mahana described the initiative as a step to increase transparency and accountability, rather than monitoring.

Earlier this year, the Budget Session was held from February 18 to March 5, during which the state’s ₹8 lakh crore budget for 2025-26 was presented.

In recent events, CM Yogi visited the Kakori Shaheed Memorial on Friday to mark the 100th anniversary of the historic Kakori Train Action. He also celebrated Raksha Bandhan with young girls and planted a tree sapling at the memorial. The Kakori Train Action, organised by the Hindustan Republican Association, took place on August 9, 1925, against British colonial rule. The UP government renamed the incident from 'Kakori Kand' to 'Kakori Train Action' in 2021 to better reflect its significance.

On Thursday, CM Yogi inaugurated and laid the foundation for 222 development projects worth INR 659 crore in Bahjoi, Sambhal district. Addressing the gathering, he spoke on preserving Sambhal’s religious heritage, historical injustices, and warned political opponents that “those who sin with Sambhal will face severe punishment for their actions.”
