Chandigarh (Haryana) [India], October 8 (HBTV): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini approved the formation of Research Committees for the ‘Sikh Museum and Heritage Centre’ and the ‘Sant Ravidas Bhawan and Museum’ in Kurukshetra, according to a state government press release.
The committees will review and verify content related to the sacred Gurus, their life journeys, teachings, and ideals, enabling early commencement of both projects. They will comprise scholars who have conducted in-depth research on the Gurus’ lives and contributions.
Chairing a meeting to review the progress of the museums, the Chief Minister also examined the concept designs and directed officials to submit four to five options to finalise the most suitable design for prompt execution. He emphasised that the architectural designs should maintain uniformity and be visually impressive from all angles.
Saini stated that the Sikh Museum should provide a comprehensive overview of Sikh history, culture, and the Gurus’ contributions. Similarly, the Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Museum should convey the spiritual philosophy, teachings, and timeless message of social harmony of Sant Ravidas Ji while being visually appealing.
He also suggested beginning work on books highlighting the history and teachings of the Sikh Gurus and Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji, to coincide with the museums’ inaugurations.
The Haryana Government is setting up the Sikh Museum and Heritage Centre on three acres and the Guru Ravidas Bhawan and Museum on five acres in Kurukshetra to preserve sacred heritage and disseminate the Gurus’ life philosophies among the public. (ANI)
