New Delhi [India], August 10 (HBTV): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday released INR 52.14 crore in compensation to 22,617 farmers whose Rabi crops were damaged due to hailstorms and heavy rains during the 2025 season. The compensation was disbursed on July 31, 2025, based on data collected through the Kshatipurti portal, which operated between December 2024 and March 2025.
Farmers across the state registered their crop losses on the portal, after which detailed assessments and verifications were conducted. During the launch of the Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Department’s website, the Chief Minister said that physical verification found about 57,485 acres eligible for compensation.
The assessment covered 15 districts — Ambala, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Gurugram, Hisar, Jhajjar, Jind, Kaithal, Kurukshetra, Mahendragarh, Mewat, Palwal, Rewari, Rohtak, and Yamunanagar — and financial aid was sanctioned accordingly.
Among the districts, Rewari received the highest amount at INR 19.92 crore, followed by Mahendragarh with INR 10.74 crore, Jhajjar with INR 8.33 crore, Gurugram with INR 4.07 crore, Charkhi Dadri with INR 3.67 crore, and Bhiwani with INR 2.24 crore. Other districts received varying amounts based on the extent of verified crop damage and registered beneficiaries.
CM Saini said the compensation aims to help farmers recover from losses caused by extreme weather during the Rabi 2025 season. The amounts were calculated in line with government norms for disaster relief, with district administrations playing a key role in verifying claims and ensuring prompt fund disbursement to eligible farmers.
