Sukma (Chhattisgarh) [India], January 15 (HBTV): A 10-year-old girl was injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district, the police reported on Monday.



The incident occurred in Timmapuram village, within the jurisdiction of Chintalnar police station, on Sunday. Officials confirmed that the IED had been planted by Maoists.



The girl, identified as Sodhi Malle (10), a resident of Timmapuram, received first aid following the blast. The Chintalnar police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Earlier on Sunday, two police personnel were injured in an IED blast in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, the police stated. According to reports, the explosion was carried out by Maoists.
