Gurugram (Haryana) [India], August 3 (HBTV): Singer Rahul Yadav, popularly known as Fazilpuria, who was allegedly shot at on the Southern Peripheral Road in Sector 71 of Gurugram, has spoken out about the incident and shared details of how it unfolded.

Speaking to ANI, Fazilpuria said, ‘On the 14th, I left Fazilpur from my office and was on my way home. By chance, I was alone that day, as I often am. On the road behind my village in Sector 71, bullets were fired at me. They came in a white car and initially overtook me, which I didn’t pay attention to. But I noticed they were staring at me from behind. I sensed that someone may have recognised me. A little ahead, they overtook completely, blocked the road, and then... as soon as they got out of the car, they started firing. I reversed my car... That’s what happened that day.’

He added that he initially couldn’t understand what exactly had occurred. ‘At that time, I didn’t understand what had happened. Initially, I thought it was related to threats we received during Sidhu Moose Wala’s time. However, new angles are now emerging. That night, while I was at the police station, I received a call. The person threatening me was using a Punjabi name. I will reveal it when the time comes.’

Last week, Fazilpuria was allegedly targeted in a firing incident on the Southern Peripheral Road in Sector 71. Police have identified the accused and registered an FIR, according to a police official.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Gurugram Police, Sandeep Kumar, on July 15 stated that police had rushed to the spot upon receiving information and found a bullet mark.

‘Late last evening, Gurugram Police received information about a firing incident on the Southern Peripheral Road in Sector 71. Police reached the spot and found a bullet mark,’ said PRO Sandeep Kumar.

He added that police recovered a car from the scene and identified the accused. ‘An FIR has been registered based on the victim's complaint. The investigation is underway. The car used in the incident has been recovered, and the accused has been identified,’ Kumar said.

Further details in the case are awaited.

Fazilpuria had contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from the Gurgaon constituency as a candidate of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). According to the Election Commission of India, he received 13,278 votes and lost to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Rao Inderjit Singh.
