Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the people of Punjab have decided to follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies.

New Delhi [India], June 27 (HBTV): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday said that the people of Punjab have decided to follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies.

He criticised previous governments and the present Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab for ‘betraying the trust of the people and pushing the state backwards in terms of development’. Saini expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would form the government in the Punjab Assembly elections in 2027.

The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing the media in Ludhiana.

Saini alleged that both AAP and the Congress are ‘deeply involved in corruption’. He said promises made by AAP to the people of Punjab remain unfulfilled, leading to growing distrust among citizens. He asserted that people are determined to oust the AAP government in the near future.

According to him, the BJP stands apart with its ‘Saaf Niti, Sahi Niyat aur Sashakt Netritva’ (clear policies, clean intentions, and robust leadership). In contrast, he claimed, neither Congress nor AAP have clear policies or the will to serve.

In response to a question, Saini said the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) is an independent institution. He accused the Punjab government of ‘selfishly stopping Haryana’s share of drinking water’ and misleading people on the issue. ‘Punjab, the land of the Gurus, has a legacy of immense sacrifices for the protection of faith and community, along with the principle that no one should be left thirsty,’ he said.

The Chief Minister also compared the implementation of central schemes in Haryana and Punjab. He noted that under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, lakhs of women in Haryana received free gas connections, while people in Punjab were deprived of such benefits.

He alleged that during the Congress government’s tenure, LPG connections were hard to obtain, but the BJP ensured doorstep delivery to the poor. Similarly, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the Haryana government provided housing to the needy, while the Punjab government ‘failed to do so’, despite its leaders building houses for themselves.

Saini further emphasised that the Haryana government procures 100 per cent of crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP), while Punjab has failed to extend the benefits of central schemes to its farmers.

He stated that over the past ten years, Haryana has paid INR 15,500 crore in crop damage compensation and provided subsidies for agricultural equipment and irrigation schemes.

The Chief Minister said that every central scheme launched by Prime Minister Modi has been fully implemented in Haryana. He added that the state government has provided free treatment up to INR 5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, benefiting lakhs of families.

‘Our government has fulfilled every promise it made,’ he said.
