RLJP's Pashupati Paras resigns as Union minister, says "injustice" in Bihar seat-sharing pact

The Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party President Pashupati Kumar Paras has resigned as union minister, a day after his party was denied any seats in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar.

Patna (Bihar) [India], March 19 (HBTV): The Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party's (RLJP) President Pashupati Kumar Paras has resigned as union minister, a day after his party was denied any seats in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar.  



Speaking to the ANI, the RLJP President said, "Yesterday, the NDA alliance announced the list of 40 candidates for Bihar Lok Sabha.       



Our party had five MPs and I worked with utmost sincerity. Injustice has been done with us and our party. Therefore, I resign from the post of Union minister." 



On Monday, the ruling National Democratic Alliance announced seat-sharing in Bihar for the Lok Sabha polls with the Bharatiya Janata Party set to contest 17 seats and Janata Dal-(United) 16.            



The Jitan Ram Manjhi-led Hindustani Aawam Morcha and the Rashtriya Lok Samta Party will contest in a seat each.     



The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) will contest in five seats.
