Imphal (Manipur) [India], November 28 (HBTV): Security forces in Manipur conducted extensive search operations across vulnerable areas in the hill and valley districts, the state police confirmed on Thursday. To ensure the safe movement of vehicles carrying essential supplies, security convoys were provided to sensitive regions.

Manipur Police shared on X: ‘Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts.’ Additionally, they facilitated the movement of 262 and 336 vehicles along NH-37 and NH-2, respectively, with strict security measures and convoys deployed along sensitive stretches.

To enhance security, 94 checkpoints were installed across various districts. The police stated that no individuals were detained for violations during these operations.

Earlier, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) registered three cases related to recent violence in Manipur, including an incident in Jiribam on November 11. A heavy exchange of fire ensued, and two bodies were recovered during subsequent search operations.

In Parliament, Congress MP Hibi Eden submitted an adjournment motion notice in the Lok Sabha, urging accountability and immediate measures to address the deteriorating situation in Manipur. The notice highlighted fatalities, mass displacement, and allegations of bias in handling the conflict, emphasizing the need to restore peace and justice in the state.
