Cachar, Assam, May 15 (HBTV): A young man in Assam who recently graduated his class-12 and was preparing to get admission to college for his degree program died while working at an under-construction structure. He was reportedly working as a laborer.
According to reports, the victim, Jitendra Das, allegedly fell from the rooftop of an under-construction temple on Saturday. Das was staying in a rented house at Silcoorie under Cachar district of Assam. He has been working as a daily wage worker to support his academics.
After falling from the rooftop of the Durga temple in Premtala, he suffered grievous head injuries. He was rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. However, he died on Tuesday.
Following the accident, concerns about safety norms for the workers were being raised. Reports said there were no helmets, shoes, or ropes provided to construction workers. His co-workers are demanding compensation.
