The Naharlagun police in Arunachal Pradesh arrested one person on charges of theft on June 24. Sources informed that the modus operandi of the accused was that he would approach unsuspecting people of the township asking them to lend their phones in the pretext of making an urgent call and as soon as the phone was handed over, the acccused would flee with it.

A total of seven cellphones, one gas cylinder, one washing machine and one refrigerator which were stolen by the accused has been recovered and handed over to their respective owners. In this regard a case has been registered against the accused and a chargesheet submitted according to capital police media cell.
