Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday awarded gold medals to Bastar and Kondagaon districts for achieving full saturation across all six key indicators under the Sampoornata Abhiyan.

Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], August 15 (HBTV): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday awarded gold medals to Bastar and Kondagaon districts for achieving full saturation across all six key indicators under the Sampoornata Abhiyan, part of the Aspirational Districts and Blocks Programme.

Aspirational blocks Shankargarh, Mainpur, Makri, Koylibeda, Orchha, and Pratappur also earned gold medals for their performance. The awards were presented during the Sampoornata Abhiyaan Samman Samaroh at Raipur’s Circuit House, where CM Sai praised officials, staff, and field workers for their contributions.

Highlighting the programme’s focus on remote and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), CM Sai credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP) for driving targeted development and reiterated the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” to achieve a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

The campaign measured performance in six selected indicators — antenatal care registration, supplementary nutrition for pregnant women, soil health card issuance, full child immunization, school electrification, and timely textbook distribution — along with screening for diabetes and hypertension and revolving fund support to self-help groups.

Silver medals went to districts Dantewada, Korba, Kanker, and Narayanpur, and blocks Lakhnapur, Baikunthpur, Durgkondul, Gaurela-2, Korba, and Pithora. Bronze medals were awarded to district Bijapur and blocks Gariaband, Usoor, Podi Uproda, Bodla, Tokapal, and Kuaankonda. Copper medals went to districts Manpur-Mohla-Ambagarh Chowki, Mahasamund, and Sukma, and block Ambagarh Chowki.

Deputy CM Arun Sao said the ADP, launched in 2018, and the Aspirational Blocks Programme, launched in 2023, aim to rapidly improve human development indicators in underdeveloped areas. The three-month Sampoornata Abhiyan ran from July 1 to September 30, 2024.
