Rangareddy (Telangana) [India], June 24 (HBTV): Eight individuals were arrested by Telangana Police for riding on a single two-wheeler in a rash and negligent manner on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Rajendranagar, Rangareddy district, officials said on Monday.

The stunt, which was recorded by other road users, was uploaded on social media and tagged to the police, prompting swift action. Based on the video evidence, police identified and apprehended the accused.

‘We received a complaint via the X social media platform from the Cyberabad social media cell, where it was observed that eight people were riding a two-wheeler on ORR in a rash and negligent manner, endangering not only their own lives but also those of others,’ said a police official.

Police added that such acts on the national highway, where vehicle movement is typically heavy and high-speed, posed a serious obstruction to traffic.

‘These individuals were performing dangerous stunts and obstructing the free flow of traffic. We dispatched a team to trace the respondents, arrested all eight, and handed them over to the RGIA Police Station. A formal complaint has been lodged for further legal action,’ the official added.

Meanwhile, in another incident in Rangareddy, a 59-year-old man was found dead in a water tank under the limits of Meerpet Police Station on June 22. The deceased was identified as Bandi Venkateshwar Rao.

Meerpet Police Inspector Nagaraju stated, ‘Upon receiving information about the incident, we reached the spot and shifted the deceased to Vanasthalipuram General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The body was later sent to Osmania Hospital for post-mortem examination.’

He further added, ‘As of now, no complaint has been received from the family members, and the case is under investigation.’
