UP CM Yogi Adityanath backs virtual education in schools, recalls Covid pandemic period

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday recalled the Covid-19 pandemic period and highlighted how the government had connected schools with virtual education during that time.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed buildings and additional dormitories of 139 upgraded Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas in Lucknow. He also laid the foundation stone for 43 Chief Minister Model Composite Schools and 66 Chief Minister Abhyudaya Composite Schools.

CM Yogi further stated that summer camps are currently being organised in all government schools across the state, calling it an ‘innovation’.

Speaking at the event, he noted that a presentation had been made at the NDA Chief Ministers’ conclave in New Delhi on Sunday, where he detailed efforts undertaken by the state to improve the condition of government schools.

‘During Covid, we connected schools with virtual education. Now technology has advanced a lot, so it is very helpful... Similarly, summer camps in all government schools is a new effort, it is an innovation. Yesterday, a meeting of Chief Ministers was held in Delhi, the Deputy Chief Minister was also present in it. We gave a presentation on the steps we have taken to revive dilapidated schools in Uttar Pradesh. This has changed the lives of lakhs of children, and thousands of people have got employment due to this,’ he said.

CM Yogi also informed that on Monday, smart classes were launched in 7,409 schools, RCT labs were established in 5,228 schools, and 51,667 teachers were involved in a tablet distribution programme.

You must have seen what a model it is and how we can reach the curriculum of good teachers to other places in a systematic way,’ he added.
