Imphal, Manipur, May 22 (HBTV): A huge cache of arms and ammunitions were found on Tuesday from Monjang in Churchanpur district in Manipur.       

The Manipur Police Control Room confirmed the report that a combined team of Manipur Police and central forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during search operations in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Mongjang area.

The arms and ammunition included a 12.5 Assault Rifle with magazine, a single-shot bolt action rifle, two 9 mm pistols along with two magazines; a magazine of 9 mm CMG; 15 live ammunitions, a short-range mortar, and six anti-riot shells.

The arms and ammunition were handed over to the police, police said.

Security forces are continuing search operations in the fringe and vulnerable areas of both the hill and valley districts of Manipur, reports at press time stated.
