France, Spain agree to send Israel firefighting planes

Following a series of diplomatic calls by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, several countries have agreed to send aircraft to assist in extinguishing the wildfires currently affecting Israel.

Tel Aviv [Israel], May 1 (HBTV): Following a series of diplomatic calls by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, several countries have agreed to send aircraft to assist in extinguishing the wildfires currently affecting Israel.

Spain's Foreign Minister informed Minister Sa'ar that his country will dispatch two planes to support firefighting efforts. Similarly, after a conversation with his French counterpart, France confirmed it would also send a firefighting aircraft.

The first countries to commit to sending firefighting planes to Israel are France, Romania, Croatia, Italy, and Spain. In addition to fixed-wing aircraft, other countries have pledged to provide helicopters and further assistance.
