Roing [Arunachal Pradesh, India], June 25 (HornbillTv): According to the vivtim's statement before the district child protection unit (DCPU) and child welfare committee (CWC), Roing, her employer sexually molested her on several occasions and even threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed it to others. She managed to flee from her owner’s house and was later rescued by the police along with CWC, Roing, and handed over to the child care institute, Roing on March 2. Upon medical examination for her age-verification, she was found to be of 12-16 years of age.

According to the FIR registered on March 18, the victim alleged that her employer used to beat her whenever she resisted and further forced her to take contraceptive pills.

CWC and Childline Roing also filed an FIR at Roing police station on March 22 last under POCSO Act. However, the accused was not traceable and was found to be absconding. On April 20, 2021, the accused was arrested and a case was made against him. 

In connection to this case, taken over by the Court, the accused has confessed and admitted to his guilt. A charge sheet under Section 376(2)(F) IPC POCSO Act has been framed against the accused.
