Dhalai (Tripura) [India], May 17 (HBTV): The Tripura Forest Department on Friday organised a special event under the IGDC Project at Ambassa Town Hall, aimed at supporting and empowering beneficiaries with tools and equipment to promote self-reliance.
The event was inaugurated by Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma, who lit the ceremonial lamp to formally commence the programme. Among the distinguished guests present were Sushmita Das, Chairperson of Dhalai Zilla Parishad; Parimal Debbarma, BDO Chairman; S. Prabhu, senior Forest Department official; and Amit Debbarma, DFO of Dhalai district.
This marked the first initiative of its kind held in Dhalai district and witnessed enthusiastic participation from the local community.
In a related development on the same day, Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma also inaugurated a newly constructed Multi-Utility Building at Raipasha, Ambassa. Built at an approximate cost of INR 4.5 lakh, the building was developed by the Forest Department as a hub for environmental protection initiatives.
The facility will serve as a dedicated space for departmental committees engaged in conservation activities. It is designed to host regular meetings, discussions, and strategic planning sessions aimed at preserving the environment.
The Minister officially inaugurated the building by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque. Present at the ceremony were Dhalai Zonal Chairman Premlal Malsom, DFO Amit Debbarma, and other dignitaries.
Both events underscore the Forest Department’s ongoing commitment to community empowerment and sustainable environmental governance in the region.
